DECYR Foundation
Fundación DECYR (acronym for Diálogo entre Ciencia y Religión – Dialogue between Science and Religion) fosters the confluence of interpretations of reality offered by sciences and various sources of religious thinking. DECYR is framed within an international movement that brings forward the search of integrated views of the world and the human being though respecting the autonomy of the different sciences, philosophical streams and confessional theologies.
DECYR promotes the dialogue between researchers, teachers, students and, in general, between those interested in social, environmental and spiritual subjects with an interdisciplinary approach. From the religious perspective, the foundation is focused on Judeo-Christian tradition; from its theological reflections it primarily addresses the scientific and philosophical problems. Thus, its religious identity is firstly biblical. However, the foundation is open to the perspectives offered by other religions.
The main objectives of the Foundation are the study of and the research on the issue of the coexistence between science, philosophy and religion in the Argentine and Latin American education, the publication and diffusion of books and the sponsoring of meetings on this subject.
Fundación DECYR is a legal entity of the Buenos Aires Province (Argentina).
